We are located at Cape Tribulation Camping, on Cape Tribulation Road. You’ll spot us shortly after passing Mason’s Café.

We are located at Cape Tribulation Camping, right on Cape Tribulation Road. You’ll spot us shortly after passing Mason’s Café, with clear signage pointing the way. Our office is the central meeting point for all rides. All riders must check in at the Cape Trib Horse Rides office 30 minutes before your scheduled ride. This ensures you have time to complete paperwork, be fitted with helmets, and meet your guides. Please plan ahead and check travel times — we cannot delay departures for late arrivals.

Getting here is easy. You can self-drive directly to our location, and there is free parking available for guests. For those staying in Cape Tribulation accommodation, we also offer a courtesy bus pick-up service for a small fee. This can be selected when booking your ride online.

Self Driving Directions

To reach Cape Tribulation, you must cross the Daintree Ferry. It operates daily and provides access to Cow Bay, Thornton Beach and Cape Tribulation. Ticket info is on the ferry website.

Roads from Cairns, Port Douglas and the Daintree Ferry to Cape Tribulation are sealed and suitable for 2WD. A 4WD is only needed if continuing beyond Cape Tribulation on the Bloomfield Track or CREB Track.

  • Cairns to Daintree Ferry 110km – 2 hours
  • Port Douglas to Daintree Ferry 40km – 50 minutes
  • Daintree Ferry to Cape Tribulation Camping – 30 min (roadworks may cause delays)
  • Cape Tribulation Camping to Cooktown via Lakeland (sealed road ) 324km – 4 hours
  • Cape Tribulation Camping to Cooktown via Bloomfield (unsealed road ) 103km – 2 hours

Die Besitzer der Ranch sind beide total hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Wir hatten leider nicht die Chance eine Tour bei ihnen zu machen, wurden aber von Ihnen aufgesammelt als unser Auto liegen geblieben ist. You're not guaranteed to get to walk in the water (the guides need to be able to see there are no crocs or sting rays 🙃) but even the walk on the beach is lovely and they stop and take photos for each group on their horses which was lovely. Walking in the water was unreal though. Made it the coolest trail ride I've done so far 😍

My family and I all went riding and loved it. The horses were well trained knew what they were doing so we didn't really need to worry about it. We also enjoyed the random facts about the Daintree from the guide up front. Yes, my feet were undoubtedly sore afterwards but it was definetly worth it. Especially when my mothers horse decided to go bush. We got some really good pictures and some good laughs (mostly at each other). Would definetly recommend this to people who've never ridden before.

We’ve had the best time riding the horses. It felt like a dream to ride on the beach and through the rainforest. The horses were lovely and the staff was very friendly. It was very well organised. Highly recommend this place.
