Our herd of 23 retired racehorses have been lovingly rehomed and retrained for a new life in tourism — trading the racetrack for the rainforest . They roam freely across 30 acres of natural paddocks with no fencing, like stepping into a real-life Jurassic Park (minus the dinosaurs!). You can learn more about racehorse rehoming through the Queensland Off the Track program by Racing Queensland.
Highly intuitive, horses can sense our emotions, making them amazing companions both on and off the track. Take the time to get to know our horses before your ride — it’s the perfect way to bond and make your experience truly unforgettable.
Foaled : 2018
Racing Name : Fredley
Without a doubt the fatty of the herd — round as a ball and proud of it.
He might be round, but he’s surprisingly active — watch his legs, he loves to cross and stretch them out like he’s doing a bit of horse yoga. Quirky, calm, and impossible not to love, Wilson.
Foaled : 2019
Racing Name: Crown & Lion
Brego is the youngest of the crew — still very much our baby of the herd. He’s taken under the wing of Bella (who treats him like her own foal), which makes Dudley so jealous! — the three of them are always up to something. Brego is our water-loving boy and happiest when he’s splashing along the shoreline. You’ll know him by his brand — three waves
Bella
Foaled : 2010
Racing Name: Bella Americana
Dudley
Foaled : 2009
Racing Name : Oakfield Avenger
These two are inseparable — always together, always side by side. Bella is our only girl in the herd (and Jacky’s favourite — she once rode her all the way to the Lions Den for a beer ).
Dudley is the oldest horse in the herd… which must be why he gets the girl! A real dude !
You’ll usually find these two hanging out together — often letting Brego tag along on their little adventures.
Foaled : 2015

Jerry comes from the same farm as Tom, and the two are good mates. Laid-back to the core, he’s so relaxed he’s been known to nod off on the job.

He’s carried riders of all shapes and sizes — a true unicorn.

Tom is one of our guide horses — trusted by the crew and known for his sensitive nature. With his dark coat and even darker personality, Tom carries a bit of mystery about him… like he knows something the rest of us don’t. Ask the guides — they’ll tell you Tom sees ghosts

Halo was once a handy racehorse, but these days he’s well and truly retired from the fast life. He’s the slowest in the herd and very happy to keep it that way.
Best mates with Thorn, Halo is all about cruising — you might just need to give him a little encouragement to keep moving!

Pippin is retired, but we pull him out every now and then for a lap down the beach – we mostly keep him around for Merry — every star needs their supporting act.
Foaled : 2016
Racing Name : Hyperion Star
One of the bigger of the herd, Pumba is a true gentle giant. He used to be guide Gerry’s lead horse, but we decided he was too good not to share.
Don’t be fooled by his grumpy face and big frame — he’s incredibly well behaved and happy to see you.
Foaled: 2015
Technique is our fearless leader and lead guide horse. First always in the lineup & first in at feed time, he rules the roost and knows it.
He keeps all our guides on their toes, especially when it comes to grooming time, demanding respect and setting the standard. The boss of the herd & us !

Zoomie by name… not by nature.
By Zoustar — one of Australia’s leading sires — he’s got the pedigree to match. While he didn’t quite fire on the track, he’s well and truly found his place on the beach.
A striking chestnut with a beautiful face and an even better walk, he’s all style and smooth cruising. You’ll love your ride on this well-bred gentleman.
Our biggest boy — standing at 16+ hands high and built like a tractor. Tank is an Australian Draught Horse, bred for strength, endurance, and tough Aussie conditions. These gentle giants were originally used as working horses, known for their calm nature and serious pulling power.
Still in training, but once he’s ready later this year, he’ll be the powerhouse of the team
